If you’re in the Southern California area and have any interest in monster movies, make a beeline today to Monsterpalooza at the Burbank Airport Marriott (see “Appearances” for the address; it’s open today and tomorrow 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM).

It is much bigger and better than I thought it would be (I’m exhibiting there and was at the show yesterday). The displays are spectacular and Famous Monsters and Creepy/Eerie publisher Jim Warren is there. The show feels very much like the beloved and much-missed Mad Model Party. Nearly every special EFX make-up studio and Special Visual EFX company is represented here with a booth or table. There’s even a museum within the convention.

This is a killer show that you’ll kick yourself for missing after you’ve talked to your friends who attended.

OK; I gotta shower and get over there!
