Hokey Smoke, Bullwinkle — it’s time for the Boston Comic Con!

I look forward to seeing all my New England friends and fans this weekend! Soon!

  1. Although the Boston Comic Con hyas been cancelled, I will make myself available to fans today (Saturday) in the afternoon/early evening. I’ll be in the lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in the little waiting area just outside the hotel’s restaurant and bar.

I’ll try to do the same on Sunday; same place but earlier time (late morning/early afternoon) until I have to catch my flight.

I spent all of last night with fans and pros alike at the hotel restaurant and bar. We had a great time swapping stories, drinking too much and drawing.

Today (in a few minutes, actually), I’ll be visiting the Edwin Austin Abbey Holy Grail murals and the John Singer Sargent Symbolist murals at the nearby Boston Public Library. After that I’m going to the Gardner Museum to see the Anders Zorn exhibition. Feel free to try to catch me at either place.

It’s 11:30 AM, so I’m going to grab some lunch before I hit the art trail. Man, it was quite the exciting day yesterday. In applaud the fine people of Boston for their tenacity throughout this ordeal.

  2. I wondered how the mini convention turned out once they had to cancel the main
Sounds like you were able to put a good spin on the situation.

  3. Great for the fans that are so accommodating and helpful. It will probably make their best memories.

  4. OOOooopppss…that should read, “Great for the fans that you are so accommodating and helpful.” ( I need to proofread first.)

  5. @Rick: No worry; there’s typos galore (“I applaud” not “In applaud”) throughout my own Boston missives (I was nervous and writing quickly because the hotel was charging me several bucks a minute to use the computers in their business center…and I’m a one finger typist).

The impromptu Boston Mini-Cons worked out great. I attended the mini-con at Larry’s Comics in Lowell, Massachusetts on Sunday and met (and made) a lot of new fans.

God bless the people of Boston!
