That sounds like a great exhibit!

THE ART OF KING KONG gallery display has to be one of CREATURE FEATURES finest exhibits, and of course, it was grounded by your magnificent tribute to that seminal motion picture. The room dedicated to your unique illustrations and painted portrait of Kong was like a shrine to the creative talents of O’Brien, Larrinaga, Crabbe, etc. As a matter of fact, I am glad to see that the gallery included busts of Kong by Mike Hill (Wow!) and the rare canvas color print of O’Brien & Crabbe’s savage depiction of Kong with great white hunter and Amazonian woman. Those pieces really enhanced your depictions. Of course, the other room in the gallery wasn’t too shabby either, as it featured a myriad of “flight of fancy” interpretations of Kong’s many escapades by the likes of Frank Deitz, Eric October, Mark Tavares, etc.

And thanks Bill, for bringing your latest O’Brien Sketchbook, rounding out the masters other works with your grand interpretations. Your tribute to O’Brien stands alone in the two volume sketchbooks you created.

For this KONG lover, this show featuring your art will go down in history as a milestone!
