An Art Blog Worth Visiting

Friday, February 24th, 2006

My work is featured on a terrific blog that honors a diversity of art styles. It is the work and musings of Charley Parker and is at www.linesandcolors.com

Charley wrote many specific and very perceptive comments regarding my work…he was maybe a little too nice, though, as I blushed when I read some of his praise! I’m in fine company, too, as Chris Ware is also featured. I’ve become pretty nuts about Chris Ware’s work, especially after seeing his originals in MOCA’s “Masters of Comic Art” exhibition.

Charley mentioned my website as appearing to be very “late 90s”. Aaargh! He’s probably right! I’d love some feedback on that, especially if you’ve got ways to improve my site. Thanks!

Girls Aloud

Friday, February 17th, 2006

If you haven’t heard the UK girl group Girls Aloud, I highly recommend their three import CDs.

Girls Aloud are a manufactured girl group chosen through a UK American Idol-style TV show that whittled down their hundreds of male and female contestants into a five man boy group and a five woman girl group. I

WonderCon

Wednesday, February 8th, 2006

I look forward to seeing all of my friends and fans in the Bay Area this weekend at San Francisco’s WonderCon at the Moscone Center.

For those of you who can’t make it to WonderCon or my booth (#617; same aisle as Bud Plant), I’ve put up four new drawings on Ebay. Oops! Make that three new drawings — one of them just sold for its Buy-It-Now price.

At WonderCon I’ll have loads of original art, including my King Kong oil painting for the cover of the latest issue of FilmFax magazine.

See you there!
